EID MUBARAK: TAKE SPIRITUAL STOCK OF YOURSELVES … Dr. Roshan Khan urges in Eid message
On this, the Holy and Auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, which marks the end of the Holy month of Ramadan, we, the Guyana Islamic Forum for Education, Peace and Religious Soliditary, the Electric Mosque’s Presentation of the Teachings of Islam, in association with the Universal Peace Federation – Guyana, seize this opportunity to extend heartfelt Eid Mubarak greetings to our Politicians and the nation of Guyana; especially our Muslim brothers and sisters.
We join with over 1.8 billion Muslims worldwide to congratulate each other with greetings of Eid, for it is the day we know that He – Almighty Allah will bless the faster with all the rewards He has promised us.
Unfortunately, during these testing times caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, many of us would not be able to meet with our families and friends to mark Eid-ul-Fitr as we are accustomed to. Despite having to adapt, we pray that the essence of Eid remains the same.
Today, in addition to giving every Muslim the obligation to remember Almighty God and praise Him; it gives us the opportunity to take spiritual stock so that we may now think about the strength of our will or the weakness of our character, as the case may be, which manifested itself during the preceding month.
Having done this, every Muslim should be ready to face the year ahead with renewed strength, greater understanding, and universal goodwill. We should now be prepared, with the same unwavering devotion, to follow the commands of Almighty God in the remaining eleven months of the year with a new personality and a stronger character to serve humanity.
Eid Mubarak to all Muslims whether they celebrate Eid after the 29th or 30th day; let us use the occasion to foster respect, goodwill, and harmony regardless of the difference of opinion of the day of Eid. May Almighty God help us all to work for the establishment of peace, justice, and high moral values in our country and the world at large.
Sincerely,
Hajji Dr. Roshan Khan Snr.
