On this Republic Day weekend, Guyanese of all ethnicities and religious backgrounds will gather in “The Spirit of Mash,” while taking over the roadways of Guyana to celebrate in true Guyanese style, as One People, One Nation, with One Destiny.

We at RK’s Guyana Security Services in conjunction with the Guyana Islamic Forum for Education, Peace and Religious Solidarity, the Universal Peace Federation — Guyana, along with the Electric Mosque’s Teachings of Islam, take this opportunity to extend Republic Day greetings to the Nation of Guyana, our President, His Excellency Brigadier David Arthur Granger and the Government of Guyana, the Opposition Leader Former President, Dr. Bharrat Jagdeo and the Opposition, as well as our Guyanese peoples as we proudly celebrate fifty years of “The Birth of the Republic.”

Mashramani is a spectacular time in Guyana. One in which we get to witness and/or enjoy the pulsating multicultural presentation of music, drumming, dances — that are Mashramani-style choreographed — as well as the vibrancy and energies of the much-anticipated parades. While we celebrate this weekend, we also wish to advise our citizens to be extra alert when driving on the roadways- please do not drive under the influence of alcohol. Pedestrians are also advised to be cautious when using the roadways.

As we approach the upcoming elections, we also wish to call on our politicians and our peoples of this great nation to keep respect and love for all at the forefront of our minds. And, to build capacity, and work together, for unity, not division, so that Guyana will grow from strength to strength.
